Hiya
We are now in Koh Samui, we arrived here last week after catching a flight down from Chaing Mai. As we landed in Samui it started to bucket down, it was ok as this only lasted 2 minutes! We booked our flights and accomodation while we were in Bangkok. We are staying in luxury bungalows a stones throw off the beach of Lamai. God knows how much its costing us, but it's lovely, we have a TV, 2 double beds, lovely shower, balcony and a pool with a jacuzzi!
Our first day was our 1st experience of the paradise beaches thailand has to offer! Beautiful golden soft sand, turquoise water, palm trees and 30deg sun. Don't worry, we whacked plenty of sun cream on and we hardly ventured from under the umbrella for most of the day!
We have been to see some Muay Thai boxing, this was in a large stadium in Chaweng, our neighbouring resort. It was ledge, it's very similar to kickboxing but rougher! Our night consisted of 7 fights, and this included 5 KO's! The grand finalle was a small little English girl vs a Turkish Brute! As you can imaging this was a very one sided afair and we were in stiches for hours thinking bout the fight! The Turkish man beast absolutely pummelled her with punches and kicks! We were even willing the poor little english girl just to go down, she was a tough cookie! Luckilly the ref stopped it in the end!
As many of you were aware it was our 6 years together on the 27th, (no harris i didn't take her for a ruby!) we went for a lovely slap up meal on the island most exclusive restaurant 'The Cliff'. It was very romantic, it was nice to eat some mediteranean food aswell as the novalty of thai food has now warn off! This was then washed down with a few cocktails!
As you can see from the photo's we have visited the Grandfather/Grandmother rocks, these are rocks that are in the formation of the genitals!
We have had a couple of cloudy days here in the middle of the week. As the weather wasn't great we decided to pay a visit to the hairdressers, Carly or Bob as i have been calling her is now looking like a true traveller!
Our fishing trip got changed to yesterday as the sea was too rough. Im glad it did as this was an excellent day! Carly was the only one to Puke! We both caught plenty of small fish and even caught some large Barracuda! We took them home and were going to get one of the local chefs to grill them for us. However after getting them back to our bungalow, stinking, we both couldn't smomach eating them! We made a local womans day by presenting them to her!
We met a couple of travellers last night, it was his 21st birthday so we celebrated it with them! We were in an Irish Pub for most of the night watching a Thai-rish band! Most of the people here are German and Sweedish, so it was nice to meet some English.
Love to all
Carly & Paul
