Our last night on Bottle Beach was nice and chilled. It seemed that the party people had moved on after the full moon party, and the atmosphere had changed. There were still a few families, but we figure that's because it's the Christmas holidays. We got to know the waiters pretty well during our stay and they looked after us well! Paul had taken part in one of the fire shows, so they kept trying to teach him the moves. He ended up with a few burns as souvenirs!!!
We spent the end of the night beating up cockroaches!! We seemed to have an infestation of them! We think we killed about 10 before going to reception and asking them to do something. They gave us a spray, and we covered the room in it! We sat on the balcony and shared a bucket while we waited for them to die!! It seemed to do the trick, but we were still a bit wary going to sleep!
We had to get up ridiculously early as our taxi was taking us to the boat at 5.30am!! It was hard work getting out of bed, but we managed it, and were waiting in reception at 5.30. An hour later, the taxi arrived!! We weren't impressed! We should have learnt by now, yet it still annoys us every time!!
We told him we were going to be late, so he drove like a complete maniac, and we were sliding all over the place! But we made it! And guess what, the boat was late too!!!
We struggled to stay awake on the boat, and then the bus, so the journey went pretty quickly! When we got off the boat, the heavens opened, and Paul got drenched! It was a chaotic moment, but overall, the journey wasn't too bad.
We flew from Surat Thani to Bangkok, and it took just over an hour, instead of 10 on a bus! We got on a local bus from the airport, which Paul wasn't impressed by! He wanted to jump in a taxi, but it was 10 times more expensive!
We ended up getting to our hotel around 6pm, so it had still been a long day! Luckily, Bangkok was a much nicer temperature! Nowhere near as hot as the week before!
After checking in, we went out and had some street food. We were considering going to Pat Pong market, but the locals convinced us to go to a local market, so we did! It was good fun, pretty cheap, and massive!! We stayed up later than we had thought we would, and were knackered by the time we climbed into bed!!
