I am currently in Cairns but the past week has been excellent. Went to a little tropical island called Magnetic Island and saw some koalas in the wild. For my birthday I decided to do something special to help me remember it and so I went off sailing on a 22.5metre racing boat around the famous Whitsunday Islands in Queensland for 3days. This was another unforgetable experience and a couple of times we stopped and went snorkelling around the reef. Fraser Island was a fantastic experience. 10 of us hired a 4x4 vehicle and went to a supermarket to get 3 days worth of supplies. We headed over on a ferry and basically spent 3 brilliant days cruising around the island visiting lakes, beaches, shipwrecks and rock pools, and camped on the beach at night. We saw some good wildlife including spiders, fish, lizards, porcupines and Dingoes and the weather was brilliant so it was an unforgetable adventure.

Brisbane was a good city but not a patch on Melbourne or Sydney hence why I only spent 4 days there. I visited the Castlemaine factory while I was there (how could I not) and tried some of their new beers. I also became one with nature and visited the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary which was amazing really, and as you can see from my photo albums I got to hold a koala which was pretty special and I managed not to get pooed on!
