Two nights in Bangkok were plenty for us. We wandered around the Khao San on the first evening but after our long bus journey from Siem Reap neither of us were in a mood to do anything so an early evening was had.
Next morning we were up and out touring the emerald buddah temple, grand palace, etc. The heat was extreme, definitely well over 30 degrees, so after seeing the sights a nice air conditioned bar was required where we cooled down. That evening was spent watching the rugby and drinking in tiny stalls along Khao San chatting to fellow travellers, a very good night indeed. We saw the first half of the Irish Namibia match before we had to depart to bed for an early rise the next morning.
6am we were up and out. We never realised how bad the traffic in Bangkok could be but found out on route to the airport. Eventually, we got to the airport 2 hours before we were due to depart. And so we now find ourselves in Hong Kong, our South East Asian adventures behind us. Hong Kong is easily the most western (and expensive) city we've been to in a long time (since Australia) and we'll be here as long as it takes to get our Russian and Mongolian visas finalised. Till next time and a full blog on the joys of Hong Kong......
