A short five hour bus journey from Singapore and we find ourselves in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. We booked ourselves into the hostel and away we went to explore the city.
We were situated in the Golden Triangle, the tourist district of the city. From there it was a stroll to most of the sights but the only thing i was eager to see where the Petronas Towers, the second tallest building in the world. It is a truely magnificent building, soaring up into the sky. Vistors are only allowed up to the 41st floor to the bridge which connects the two towers, so up we went and had a great view of the city.
After that we explored more of the city, fabulous shopping (so Trish says) and the typical hawkers in Chinatown trying to sell you anything they can. But due to the fact that we can bearly carry our backpacks as they are, the thought of adding to the weight did not appeal to us so we left empty handed.
Now we find ourselves in Cameron Highlands, Tanah Rata to be exact, in central Malaysia. We arrived last night after an longer than expected bus journey (5 hour wait in Kuala Lumpur for our bus and then a journey of 5 hours which was due to take only 3½ hours) but i suppose that is something we'll just have to get used to. Till next time....
