Wulaia Bay and Karaoke
We got back from the end of the world and had the most delicious buffet breakfast. Then after breakfast there was a documentary all about Shackleton and his Antarctic adventure. Omg it's incredible and I cried at the end! I hope there's been a film made about this guy cos I will need to see that!. After that my new friends and I (Karen, Bill Bill and Cathy) hit the bar. Well it's a free bar so would be rude not to! People started filtering in a couple hours later to start watching a presentation about flowers. Half way through it we were approached by a wee old lady telling us she couldn't hear. Oops. We took that as our sign to leave. We parted and I went to my room. 2 hours later I woke up, missing lunch but feeling very refreshed.
At 4pm we got off the ship again. This time to hike up a hill at Wulaia Bay. We could choose a low difficulty walk along the beach or a med-high difficulty walk up the hill. I hoped all the oldies would go for the easy walk but the majority of my group was over 65 and some even had walking sticks! Needless to say, the walk was very gentle and slow. Nice enough view (half way) up the hill tho and our guide was very informative telling us all about the trees and the beavers, mink and pigs that are found on the island.
We got back on the ship just in time for a quick shower before dinner at 8. The drinks started flowing and by the time karaoke started at 10, I was best friends with everyone from my table and the next where the two Bills, Karen and Cathy sat, and we all piled in there and took over the whole place! There was only a small selection of songs and none of my usual favorites but I think I sang all of them as nobody else was that interested. The last song was Thriller and I made everyone get up to do the zombie dance. Oh What a hoot!
