Hello all,
Have been here in Hua Hin for 5 days now in a lovely boutique hotel. We cut short our visit to Vientiane on advice of fellow travellers but ten minutes after checking into our hotel, Paul thought he had slipped a disc and for the next 4 days, he rested up by the pool and took lots of painkillers. It was a pulled muscle, it transpired.
Just as well because we had a long overnight train journey to Hua Hin via Bangkok. We could only get 3rd class tickets for less than a £1 but would have had to wait 3 hours cos the trains were full. The journey time is about 2.5 - 3 hours so we took a private taxi here.
Back to beaches and there are some lovely ones here and it's also a golfers paradise but Paul's back is not up to it yet and he's well miffed.
Had a truly amazing time at the Safari and by now you have probably seen the pics of us with the Tigers, lions and leopards. Bottle feeding the tiger cubs was a memorable and fantastic experience. Our faces say it all. There will always be cynics and critics but these animals are well cared for and have lots of exercise. Not only will the photos last a lifetime, so will the memories.
Leaving today for our next resort hotel in Cha Am. It's right on the beach and only 25klms away. Just over two weeks to go and we'll be home but still lots to look forward to.
