Just incase you thought we were always jollying around with unicorns and rainbows on this trip, there are some ugly parts too. Honestly, I thought they would be more. I thought there would be more tears, more anxiety, more near death experiences due to sibling and parent anger. There are some. Rosa's ability to drive us all to the brink by barely moving a muscle or uttering a sound (I said 'barely') is a skill worth bottling. Of course there are some arguments and frustrations but on the whole, perhaps due to my zero tolerance which is occasionally a bit over the top (no mum, we won't shush, we are just having a conversation) and my need to have a level of calm for my own sanity, the kids are either holding it together for one almighty fight, or else they will hate each other for the next 10 years because they were not able to express it on this trip. I hope not. I hope that my extremely low tolerance for any grumpiness, dissatisfaction, ungratefulness, annoyance, fighting etc. is not going to cause too many repressed emotions. I hope that the fear of mummy exploding does not mean they are holding it all in unnaturally. Because on the whole, we are all getting on pretty damn well. After 6 hours in the car yesterday, nobody wanted to get out because Prince Jonathan might have just discovered that Page Alan who was training to be a Knight had actually been masquerading as a girl all this time and was actually Alana. Yup, perhaps it's the talking stories that keep us riveted on something far more exciting than that which annoys each of us about the other.
