Days 8 and 9 - This was a relaxing day, our first. After meeting Emily last night and going out for some food, she told us about how she was going on a cooking course the following day. Luke, Laura and Helen all seemed keen and also went along which left me and Burns to chill out at the hostel and buy our night train tickets. Day 5 began at 8am with us getting on a mini bus with 2 other people (Henrik and Josephine, from Sweden) and we headed for a local waterfall and national park. We all went in swimming which was cool, and then got back on the bus and got dropped off in the mountains. We then headed off on our 2 hour walk with our very funny and excentric guide 'Yute'. Day 4 and we didnt do an awful lot for this day and a half, just wandered around and waiting for the 10pm night train. Journey was surprisingly good, had own pod bed and window. Slept well and watched the world go by as the sun rose. We got to Chiang Mai in beautiful sunshine, checked into our Hostel and hence, the rain came (every day its rained so far!). We are now booking our 3 day trek with bamboo rafting and elephant riding just 2 of the activities.

Day 2 - After a very hot and long nights sleep, we awoke to thunderous rain, but decided to head out to Chinatown for the afternoon. Got soaking wet, but had some awesome local food. We then headed to the MBK centre, the biggest shopping centre I have ever seen! About 9 floors of wall-to-wall shops. After getting a few things we headed back to the hostel and planned our night out. We got a Taxi with 2 other guys we met (Jeremy the Aussie His name was Jeremy Jeans...

Day 1 and after a long 11 hour flight from Heathrow we landed in Bangkok in the middle of the afternoon. Very hot and humid, but better than English rain none the less! We got 'Limousine' taxi from the airport to our hostel in Bangkok, very nice place. We also found that we had just got rippedoff and paid loads for the limo instead of a normal taxi.
