Days 8 and 9 - This was a relaxing day, our first. After meeting Emily last night and going out for some food, she told us about how she was going on a cooking course the following day. Luke, Laura and Helen all seemed keen and also went along which left me and Burns to chill out at the hostel and buy our night train tickets. The train was fully booked so we booked for the following afternoon. Whislt me and Burns began an epic game of blackjack which lasted a few hours, the others were busy eating 6 courses of food which they had cooked themselves. Dont think any of them like Fish sauce or mushroom ears anymore!
Day 9 started with us playing cards in the pool and enjoying some sun. Our night train left at 2.50pm and we arrived in Bangkok and 6am, long jounrey in a small sweaty pod, good times.
Day 10 and we were back where we started the trip, Bangkok. Very busy and none of us really wanting to stay as we were all shattered. We booked another night trip, this time on a bus which would mean we would arrive on Koh Phangnan the next day. We spent the day not really doing a lot, went to Koh San Road, and chilled out with a few changs and some pool. Loads of backpackers and pretty vibrant atmos. At the train station I had a toilet emergency and had to use one of the squatters. Some of the food clearly didn't agree with me.
Day 11 and we reached the port where our ferry would take us to Koh Samui and then to Phangnan at about 9am. The ferry ride was aweosme, 2 hours in scorching heat. needless to say I went pretty red later! Some very interesting characters we met as well, some Auzzies, Kiwis, Canadians, and some very annoying Americans! It rained really heavily at one point and us lads and a few others braved it. Once we arrived we got into a pick up truck with about 12 other people and headed to our bungalows. We settled into our resort, Laem Son, which is about 20 min drive from the main party areas. Just under 2 pound a night for a bungalow right on the sea front, absolutely stunning views. We settled in, had a swim and some food, and then had a relaxing first night in town.
Day 12 and we are all getting a bit red now, the heat is intense but better than the rain at home.... We are looking to moving nearer to the Full Moon Beach Party if possible, but if not we'll stay where we are. We had another chilled night but should be in the mix of things in the next few days.
