Hello,
Arrived in Exmouth early am and booked in for 2 nights. Walked , relaxed and sunbathed on beach. Checked out the new Novatel resort for happy hour - very suave! As usual , lost our way home through the building site, so as we couldn't find our van, treated ourselves to a chinese!
Hired wet suits and snorkelling gear on our way to Cape Range NP on Exmouth peninsula. Checked into Tulki beach bush camp and spent the next 2 days snorkelling on Turquoise beach ( aptly named) and exploring the national park, gorges etc.
The Ningaloo reef is very close to the shore and we were able to see lots of beautiful fish, turtles and stingray, without swimming too far out. To keep us fit, there is a natural current running parallel to the beach from L to R, which quickly takes you along before you exit before the outer reef, which can be dangerous. This was a quick way to have a good workout, as it is exhausting but very enjoyable.
We enjoyed this so much , that we stayed another day exploring other snorkelling areas and bush camps( not to mention the one we got bogged down in the sand! )Clouds came in , so we sadly left in a hurry before the storm!
Headed for Coral bay and settled in our campsite. The heavens opened and Sam became an aquavan!! We became the central meeting point for all the camp ground floods, as people diverted their water samwards from their tents. We were safe and dry , but with all this water, soon had to borrow next door's canoe to visit the loo!!
Weather brightening, we are still laughing and heading south..........
