We left Pensacola early in the morning and had an uneventful trip until western Louisiana. We had a trailer tire blowout along extremely busy I-10. The blowout was actually no as draumatic as I had always feared. More just like a flat tire. We pulled of the highway onto the shoulder, and all the kids got over into the grassy area to wait. I called Progressive's roadside assistance and knew I was in trouble when the Amercan, well-spoken customer service rep. asked me what state Lousisiana was in. Fortunately, a complete stranger pulled off the highway and changed our tire before Progressive could find out where we were.
After that hold-up, we drove through a horrendous rainstorm. We could only make it as far as Katy, Texas.
Jimmy Jr. worked as our navigator and used our new MiFi to search the internet for a campground. He found a great one and we pulled in at 9 pm. We set up the pop-up, and everyone piled in. Elise jumped on her bed and announced, "Mom, this bed is soaked!" The roof must have leaked during the rainstorm. Since there are just five of us, we still had room to sleep in the other beds. We settled in for an uneventful night, Austin bound tomorrow!
