We're learning from this trip that you can not plan on a set schedule. You have to be flexible and go with the flow.
We woke up pretty early in the morning and felyt terrible about leaving Cassandra with Mark in the hospital. Luckily, she has full-time help for the next four days. It broke out hearts to leave her, but we did. As we left Mark and Cassandra's, we found out that our brake light on the trailer was not working. So far, we're keeping a good record of about one or two incidents a day.
We drove to the Jayco dealer an hour and a half later than planned, and then they took two and a half hours to fix the door and the tail light. Now, they both fully function. However, they could not look at the roof leak, and it was pouring rain.
It's now about 8:30 at night, and we are about 50 minutes away from Carlsbad, NM. This has been a long, boring, and thankfully uneventful drive and day.
We're staying at KAO campground outside of Carlsbad tongiht. We hope to wake up early and get to the caverns when they open for a super whirlwind sightseeing trip. We are supposed to be in Pheonix tomorrow night by 5:30 to pick up big Jimmy. The drive is estimated to take 9+ hours. We are learning that reall translate 11-12+ hours with a trailer and traffic. Jimmy might be taking a Super Shuttle to a hotel tomorrow night. We'll see what tomorrow brings!

Brett Take lots pics guys, a lot of us are living this adventure with you thru this blog. Even boring family shots of the "who gets this bunk" argument are worthy for all of us. How you liking that salesman now? ;)
Mom I'm hoping you have all the kinks worked out of trailer travel by the time I join you next week! I'm amazed how upbeat all of you sound with all the traveling travails you have had. Way to go!!
