Sophie And Tami Were Here
Thursday 7th June
Journal entry brought to you by Tami
Today was a wicked day! After nipping into town to get haircuts (Sophie's is hilarious, the woman just went snip happy and took out giant chunks!) and trying on Ug boots in a shoe shop, we spent the rest of the day luging. Luging is this crazy fun thing that I think Kiwi's invented but I'm not sure. You sit on what is basically a sledge on wheels, and go down a steep track, attempting to steer and not fall out! Then you get on a ski lift do the whole thing again. There were three tracks at the Luging place, a scenic, intermediate and advanced. As all four of us (Soph, Oli, Amos and myself) had bought 5 luges each, we began with the scenic. It was so much fun! The boys powered it down, Sophie not too far behind. I took a more leisurely pace needless to say. I value my limbs, I don't want to lose one because of some freak luge accident. Anyway, three more goes later, and we all decide to end on the advanced track, but for some reason, it's closed off. The guy running the luge says to us '' I'm sorry it's closed now, there aren't lights on this one, and it's dark now. You can go down but you'll crash''- which was of course our invitation to say 'Okay!' and off we went! He was like, just don't sue me if you get injured! Sophie nearly fell out it was hilarious! But he wasn't kidding when he said there were no lights, it was pitch black down there! SOOOO much fun. I wasn't last down for once!
We then went back to our hostel, and Oli, Soph and I went in the heated pool for a bit. Then Amos fell asleep, while the other three of us went to get Hell's Pizza, and ate SO much it felt like our tummies weren't going to hold it all in. SO much food! It was wicked! Then went to bed. Yawn....good day!!
