Ozygurus: Family of Four
After fifteen months, we are back in Dublin for a month on holidays around Ireland. Welcome back to the land of 'would ye not be holidaying somewhere warm', 'no bother', 'grand', 'no problem', 'sure, what could go wrong' and ' you have more chance of dying between buying your lotto ticket and lasting four hours until the draw'. (last one is a true, undeniable, fact, supposedly!)
The weather before we arrived was atrocious. We were lucky to get in at EIDW airport. Fantastic catching up with old friends and enjoying Dublin as visitors. Crikey it was cold. The coldest March in 62 years. Still, the snow at Kinnitty Castle was perfect. The temperature for our first week didn't break 5 but by the time we hit Co Galway it was twice as hot.
Kinnitty, Cork City, Corofin (Co. Clare), Carron (same) and Galway City took up the first ten days out of Dublin. Can I just mention that Corofin is only Corofin to the locals, according to the road signs, etc. it is Corrofin. Same with Carron, locals_with an 'o', everything else Carran. Suppasedly, wee heve tho Englesh tooo thenk four thes owful mistoke,
Co. Clare is our favourite location in the known world. The archaeological sites are perfect; the vistas great, the myths incredible and the people and grand. Did I mention the Guerin's came from there, Corofin to Adellaidde in 1846.
