A planned campervan excursion around Wales became too complex and expensive so we drove to Co. Kerry, SW Ireland for just under a fortnight. First stop Cashel - to see the rock thereof - and loved it [here is the tourist blurb: Cashel's Victorian town centre is a thriving retail zone, with excellent clothes shops, lively cafes, charming gift shops, pubs oozing with old charm and food retailers offering delicious artisan fare]. Next stop Tralee for a kids festival but not the most inspiring place; no further comment here.
Then to Dingle on the stunningly beautiful Dingle Peninsular.

What a fantastic place. [ Again - the blurb - Once cited as 'the most beautiful place on earth' by the National Geographic; was voted among the top 100 destinations in the world by Trip Advisor]
We drove the Ring of Kerry and the Ring of Dingle. The kids did some pottery. A crazy dolphin called Fungie saw us hiking along the shore and came and gave us a personal display akin to the Olympics pole vaulting competition; I kid you not. We searched for fossils on a stunning beach. Heard some real traditional, traditional music (a Dingle Jingle). Got food poisoning at a real traditional Indian restaurant (a single tingle of dissatisfaction). We stayed in a hotel where the caretakers kids were the same age as ours and they spent any spare time playing together.

We honestly think we could retire their; to mingle some more. To lingle a little longle in Dingle. [I'm trying]. Camilla said that she felt a real affinity with the area and i have to agree; the ground there seems to pull you back to it. I agree totally.
