Ozygurus: Family of Four
Hello again,
It came as ONE big surprise, as we sat under the unforgettable fire of the evening sky in our backyard in Dublin
(where the streets have no name), that we had found what we were
looking for. Then the sweetest thing happened, drifting through the
breeze from Croke Park came Bono blasting out Sunday Bloody Sunday
followed by with or without you! Ah; Dublin at its best, U2’s 360degree
tour right at our doorstep; for us its: everlasting love !!!
OK,
too corny for you? It really has been fabulous. Even taking 76 days to
register the campervan was no real downer. Besides, think of all the
money we saved: no tolls; red light camera fines; and 1/5 of the years
motoring scott free. (BTW: Campervans are only 88euros a year in Eire)
Big Ben London
. The weather has been pretty good, it was winter wasn’t it? Perhaps we are in for a shock.
Macayle
and Dylan have eight weeks off and after settling into the Glasnevin
Educate Together as Ozyies, have now settled right into holiday mode
very well.
We have had five camping holidays around Ireland and
each has been fantastic. Again the weather has been pretty good for
winter; it was winter wasn't it? The scenery is startling and, well -
you know - green! We now all have pushbikes which bounce around nicely
on the bike-rack and stop anyone from photographing our new number
plates.
Thanks to RyanAir, we have also visited:
Glasgow (great food, friendly people and cheap in camparison to the Celtic Tiger);
London (where we caught up with Camilla's brother Graham; late arrival due to an aborted takeoff out of DUB);
and
Memmingen - southern Germany (where we caught up with our friend
Dagmar; had great walks and ate and drank like Ozy/Irish tourists in
Bavaria should);
and we haven't paid more than 5Euros for any
tickets!!!!!! Let me say that again ................; and
again...........; actually most of the tickets were 99cents
Natural History Museum London
. All we do is take our hand luggage on board - up to 10 kilos.
We
have already booked Paris in September and Berlin for December. The
rosters are 5 on 3 off and I know what I am working for the next 29
months.
A load of visitors will be here for Autumn which will be nice.
We are just about to leave for an unforecast four week campervan holiday through Scandinavia. The landbridge: ferry Dublin
to Holyhead/Wales - drive across the UK in one day - ferry Dover to
Calais and a quiet drive up the motorways through Belguim, Holland.
Germany to Denmark Etc. The other option was the ferry to Bergen Norway
but we needed to sell our property in the south of France to afford it
and we don't have a property in the south of France. We will blog again
during this trip.
All the best from the ozygurus; just returning to Ireland to pay our taxes (the Guerins left County Clare in 1842 to Adelaide) and the taxes have certainly gone up. Not a problem - we came here for the weather!
Cheers from David Camilla Macayle and Dylan
