Day 49
Overhead someone saying there was a storm on the way so, as the tent is not completely water proof, after breakfast we covered it with a tarp.
Pottered around Dubbo CBD in the morning and did some organising including putting the car online to be sold and caught up on some long overdue entries here.
Afternoon spent checking out some of the animals in the Western Plains zoo. In general, we are not particularly big zoo fans but so many people had raved about this one and as a result our expectations were duly raised. As zoos go, it is pretty well done in that, in place of fences, the animals are separated from visitors by moats or at least by fences that are as unobtrusive as possible. Luckily the expensive $46 per person fee is for 2 days as there is only so long that my attention span lasts looking at animals, so we will return tomorrow to finish the 2nd half. Still, the huge hippo, baby rhino and cute meercats were pretty impressive to see.
After dinner the rain started and we are thankful for the tarp. However, the rain is actually pretty therapeutic, just hope I don't have to pee in the middle of the night!
