G'day mates! We have finally managed to get online! Well we have arrived in Adelaide after setting out on our 5 day car journey along The Great Ocean Road.
On Monday we picked up our car and got straight onto The Great Ocean Road, it was stunning. We kept stopping to take amazing pictures. We went to Bells Beach where the surfing festival is being held, we didn't get to see any surfing! We arrived at Apollo Bay and treated ourselves to fish and chips as we were by the beach!
On Tuesday we headed inland to Maits Rest and Triplet Falls, this was lovely and much bigger than any waterfall we saw in Thailand. We got back onto The Great Ocean Road and saw Gibson Steps, The Twelve Apostles and Loch and Gorge, the views were even better than the previous day if that was possible! That evening we staying in Port Campbell and cooked dinner.
On Wednesday we stopped off at The Arch, London Bridge and The Grotto. We carried on to Warrnambool and Port Fairy then Cape Bridgewater, this was a long sandy surfing beach. We then drove to The Grampians National Park. We saw some wild kangaroos. Not great when you are doing a 100km per hour but we were still pleased to see them!!
On Thursday we had a lovely day in The Grampians, we started at The Pinnacles Lookout which was a two hour trek, the view from the top was amazing! We drove to another lookout called Boroka Lookout where you could see The Pinnacle, it looked so high and couldn't quite believe we had done it! We then went to McKenzie Falls, we walked down to the base of this waterfall - it was very steep but worth the effort after our homemade icecream (not by us!!). We stayed in a backpackers portacabin on a caravan park in Horsham.
Yesterday was the drive to Adelaide and the weather was awful! It actually turned out to be a very stressful day once we arrived in the city. We found a hostel but had nowhere to park the car! We ended up going to a shopping centre as we had no choice! Here we bought our first bottle of wine! Our evening consisted of laundry and drinking wine!
Today we returned our car, then did the walking tour from The Lonely Planet. We also went in the Art Gallery and Southern Australian Museum! Check us out with our culture! We have a wine tour booked for tomorrow where apparently you get to taste lots, Jacobs Creek watch out!
