Yesterday we went to Auckland Museum. This was really interesting and it had lots of inter-active bits that amused us - we took part in a volcano experience!! We had a coffee, then walked to the city passing the uni, Old Government House, Barracks and the Art Gallery - all of which weren't very interesting!! We found a nice bakery and treated ourselves to a bun! We did a bit of shopping too - we got some hats and scarfs. Came back to the hostel and cooked pas...

Today we have been in to town again!! We have sorted out our magic bus which will be taking us round New Zealand. We are going to be in Auckland until Saturday, we then go to Bay of Islands (further North). We then walked to Newmarket and did some shopping there - Ky got a new pair of trainers as one of her old ones was left in a trailer in Darwin! We woke up abit later this morning although we don't feel too jet lagged. We have been shopping today!! The weather was brighter this morning but still cold so out came our new winter coats! We bought a dress, a top and a pair of size 6 jeans each!! Mums don't panic - we are eating and still a healthy size 10!! The sizing is different here! We went for a nice hot chocolate with marshmellow, it was lovely. Did some food shopping then came back to the hoste...

We've arrived!! Got the flight from Darwin to Sydney last night, then on to Auckland this morning. We even got an icecream on our flight in to New Zealand! Our first impressions - it's grey!! The weather isn't too cold but it's been raining. Our hostel is nice and homely - very different to what we've been staying in in Australia! The people seem friendly. Gonna have a chilled out evening as we must have only had two hours sleep last night!!
