We spent today just taking a walk around Lake Geneva. It's a beautiful spot surrounded by snowy mountains and a pristine lake in the middle. The water was so crystal clear. There were some mad people swimming laps in the freezing cold water. We got to see our first chipmunk which we were both a little overexcited about, can't believe how tiny and cute they are, a lot more skittish than squirrels though. I got to buy my swatch watch so I finally can tell the time without having to dive around for a phone, has been a frustrating thing for five weeks. We booked our seats on the golden panorama train to Zurich for tomorrow so we have to get to Montreaux this afternoon as that's where the scenic train leaves from so it's a mad dash to get our luggage and get on the train again. We arrived in Montreaux late afternoon and got a little lost trying to find our B&B was not a fun happy experience walking for miles up hill with my heavy backpack on. Was starting to get dark and I was worried we weren't going to find the place but just as I thought that we stumbled upon it. It was all shut up and dark inside so after ringing the bell for 15 minutes and banging on the door I tried to ring them but got an engaged signal, looks like we could be sleeping on the street. He finally answered the door just as we were walking away and was very apologetic. He showed us to our room and suggested a few places to eat and left us to our own devices, was a lovely modern room though the toilet was rank with stink. We headed out for dinner and chose a Swiss restaurant that served fondue. We had the beef fondue menu which included a salad to start with, the beef fondue with oil and sauces and then a mango sorbet. The meal was to die for and the 2 glasses of wine I had were just heaven. We love Switzerland so far. Up early to get on the scenic train to Zurich.
