Early start to the day today as we had to finish seeing Verona and leave for Trento. We headed towards Juliet's tomb which we again found easily thanks to the great directions in the city. Was a really nice museum lots of beautiful paintings and sculptures as it used to be a monastery that had been completely destroyed hundreds of years ago and was completely rebuilt (still making it very old). The Juliet tomb was very moving, lots of love graffiti everywhere again. We went from the tomb for a walk through the old town and stumbled across a beautiful cathedral that we went for a wander through and then continued towards the water so we could cross to see the Roman theatre. It was a really interesting spot and could have been truly beautiful but it was grubby and not very cared for which took a little shine off it, was still a special spot but could have looked better. We headed back to towards our hotel the long way wandering the alleyways and admiring the city views. We stopped for lunch on the way back where I got to try the Verona specialty of polenta which I had with mushrooms, salami and cheese, was really yummy, I also got to try the local drink which is called an Aperol, it looks better than it tastes but I could get very use to it and Trent had the carbonara which was truly wicked, wished a little that I had that lol. We then got some more gelato and froze again as we managed our way back to the hotel. We were sad to leave Verona and hope to visit again one day. We grabbed our bags and headed to the train to get to Trento for the night. Was a beautiful train journey with lots of snow on the mountains. We got to Trento late and it took us a while to find our way to the hotel so we arrived tired and a little cranky, early to bed for us as its another big day of seeing Trento and moving onto Innsbruck. No rest for the wicked.
