What Is Happening??
Sometimes you just get lucky. This was the case everyday that I spent at this place. I was staying at a house that was for the ski instructors and other employees at a resort down the road. I spent a few days just going for a bit of a mosie around the place, interacting with the locals, pretending I could understand German and trying to figure out which area I would try snowboarding at. Eventually I got a snowboard and boots and hit the slopes, literally. With Andrea as my teacher, we walked about 50 metres up this gentle hill, it took me some 30 minutes to get back down. This 30 minutes provided some great comedy for Andrea and anyone else who was around watching. Having obviously mastering the basics, yeh right!! I figured there was no better way to learn than by going to the top. What goes up must come down!! (and I was - every 10 metres!!) It wasnt all that bad, after my first run, I was able to safely negotiate my way back down, albeit slowly. I continued on with the snowboarding for a few more days and I must say, in the end I was fair rippin' The place I went to snowboard was amazing. I didnt have my camera for the simple fact that I was usually on my arse and figured I would eventually break it. But I was literally on top of the world in many ways. When returning to the house I was greeted with the work crew who would offer beers, spirits and other devilish delights. I was quite simply in heaven, although very bloody sore!! The scenery around here was amazing. There are loads of camping grounds there and I am told that in summer it is absolutely beautiful, I could see how.
