What Is Happening??
Is Scotland all Haggis and Bag pipes?? I wasnt sure, actually I didnt know what to expect. I had planned a trip, well, actually not planned, but rather booked an air ticket to Edindurgh and two weeks later back from Dublin. In between these two days I wasnt sure where I would be, how I got there or where I was going next. Add to this Dave yates who calls me 2 weeks before hand and tells me he has a new job and is now coming, and Shano from the northern beaches of Australia calling the night before and asking if he can also join, I figured we would have a unbelievable time or they would soon figure I had done no research and wish they hadnt come. Anyway, the latter did not occur and all the problems that we inevitably encountered turned out to be blessings in disguise or at least a tortourous funny experience (12 hours on busses and ferries to get to Belfast)
Cutting a long story short, Edinburgh, beautiful, old, historic and full of charm. As soon as we arrived we all got acquainted over lager and haggis (spicy and yummy if you dont think where it came from). Took in Edinburgh castle and wandered around in a lost state only to be saved by the sounds of a Western Australian Schools bag pipe performance, ending with Waltzing Matilda and I still call Australia home. tears were flowing. Well done boys. Stayed in hostel which seemed to be over populated with people who had stayed there since last summer (some 8 months ago). What a Feable existence! Had many a good night on cheap booze and playing cards and exchanging stories.
After failing to prebook acc. in Glasgow (there was some festival on) we decided to head north in search of the Loch Ness. Contrary to Davids views The loch ness was not in Davids pants nor, even Sighted. But still, Inverness was a beautiful little town and only one night was spent before the 12 hour journey to Belfast Ireland (and a rather anxious moment at customs mmm???).
Scotland was all hagis and bag pipes plus a whole lot more.
