What Is Happening??
Hi all, well Germany was a wonderful place to be for Christmas and New year. Full of nice and kind people, cold beer and loads of snow. Basically I spent time in between two girls, well, not like that, but staying at their places. Some time spent in Germany with Andrea and some in Austria with Claudia who worked as part of the ski resort. Had a good xmas with their families, ate loads of Bavarian sausages and guzzled lots of beer. A few times we went to a mountain and would walk up (this was strenuous, but very much worth the effort), once at the top we were able to have a beer at a restaurant and then you would sled down. This was great fun and a surprise as I really had no idea what you could do here when it was so cold untill these four little bandits came cruising down and almost took me out. Went out a couple of times. Most memorable has to be the bar full of bikers and other alternative folk. We always seemed to end up there. New years eve was a massive event. After consuming too much beer, bourbon, vodka and a few secret herbs and spices it was off to the hill for 12 o'clock. What happened here was nothing short of pure entertainment. Everybody must go out and spend 100's of euros on fireworks, because all across the city, all you could see were fireworks going off everywhere. This was a spectacular site and if I had of been able to operate my camera properly I might of got some good piccys. I have loads of respect for the German way on New years. Everybody is out for the fireworks, mums, dads, grannies, kiddies, yobbos and pets. The most fascinating part is that Germans strongly believe that fireworks cannot harm you!! A classic demonstration of this happens every few minutes when some ill fated firework falls over and fires across the ground showering everyone around. Whilst I dived for cover, I watched in pure joy, as the Germans celebrate the fact that they were able to dance in the fireworks and still have all their bodyparts still attached. This was not just a drunk occurence. Parents loved it, kids loved, even the dogs were loving it!!
Quite frankly, Germany, I was loving it too.
