27th June- Heading out to the ancient site of Olympia early this morning which is great as you avoid the crowds and heat. We meet our guide at the gate and she walked us through the site explaining ancient Greece and stories of the building ruins around us. 26th June- Contiki tour day 2. 7am departure today. Walked to the bus parked in syntagma square and set off on a city bus tour. We drove to the panathenaic stadium. It was built around the 4th century and the site was chosen as it representatives the place were a messenger brought news of a great battle victory to the city if Athens from marathon.
