Today we put on our tourist hats and just went for it! Starting with a good breakfast to set us up for the day in a really nice coffee shop, porridge with bananas and berries that also gave us the stomach for what was to come.
We decided we didnt have the time in one day to warrant getting a hop on hop off bus ticket so we went for the two hour narrated bus tour and thrown in with that was a visit to Madame Tuusauds. It was there we headed to first, I have been to the one in London and even though it was a long while ago I think here was actually better. They had plenty of famous faces for us to take photos with and also those dressed in their movie characters. We were pleasantly surprised by the fun we had! It was half past two before we came out and were ready to go on the bus tour but we needed to wait until three thirty for the next one so we took the opportunity to sit in the sun at the plaza dreaming of being on a beach! Onboard our open top bus with our headphones on we couldnt have got more cheesy! The tour took us up into the hills really just looking at homes of the famous but we stopped at a viewpoint over the city where four million people live and is 500 square miles big, pretty impressive. From there it was down into Beverly Hills, with the crazy houses there and the perfectly manicured lawns. We actually drove down a road where one side was Beverly Hills and the other LA, the two sides looked worlds apart! For the 90210 postcode you will pay at least two million, Jennifer Anistons house is apparently on the market for 43 million. We could list all the famous names of the houses we saw but actually just looking at these houses was interesting but with all the money in the world I couldnt see the appeal on living here. The one house I did recognise was the Osbournes from the TV series! I got to see the store on Rodeo Drive where Julia Roberts goes into on Pretty Woman, "big mistake, huge" and also the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, though we didnt get chance to take any photos so Olof has promised we can go back tomorrow when we have the car for a walk around that area.
It was dark when we got back to Graumans Chinese Theatre, it's one of them places where the light just switches off, and it was time for dinner so we took the typical pizza slice and decided to call it a day! Back at the hotel we've booked our shuttle to take us to the airport, where we are picking the car up from and from there it is next stop Las Vegas!
Surprisingly we've had a pretty fun time in LA, it's just a big culture shock from the atmosphere of some of the places we visited in Canada, give me minus twenty, miles away from anywhere at a frozen waterfall any day!
