We had a really nice end to our time in Vancouver with Kinga taking us out for the afternoon. We headed up to the suspension bridge near to the one we had been to a few days earlier, this one however was free and a million times better! The bridge itself was smaller and lower but the view of two waterfalls was a lot better. The only downside was the warm snow that had started! We carried on walking through the trails with no man made board walks in sight, to a water hole which is popular in the summer though I dont think you would get me in any time of the year, it's so cold! Kinga's dog on the other hand went in for a swim! A really nice place with plenty to explore and we were left kicking ourselves we hadnt chose it the first time! After that we had a nice meal and more time to catch up, of course the photographs were taken ready to come out in the future but lets hope it's not another twenty years before I see them again!
Today was our flight to LA at some unearthly hour (I have already forgotten the times I used to get up for work!) we were at Vancouver airport, pretty smooth flight down and we were both glad we werent on the 36 hour bus journey! As soon as we arrived at LAX everything went crazy and unfortunately it is exactly how I expected it to be! Too many people, too many cars and way too big, but we'll make the most of the day we have here! We finally arrived at our hotel in Hollywood and headed down to the main block on Hollywood Boulevard. First though it was time to get rid of some layers, it's a pleasant 15 degrees with sun here. It's a really hard place to explain but weird sums it up well, and the difference a couple of blocks makes is unbelieveable. In a "weird" very touristy kind of way I actually like the area around the Chinese theatre where the hand prints in the pavements are! It's actually a good time to be here with the Oscars being on Sunday, part of Hollywood Boulevard is closed and we were watching them setting up for the event. The Walk of Fame with the stars on the pavement goes on forever there is around 2400 of them, many I dont even recognise! From the viewpoint you can see over to the Hollywood sign in the hills, it is ironic that everything in the States is so big and this is actually so small. So we spent the afternoon looking around here before deciding we were going to be naughty and go out for dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe, we had the full works! As we had only had a couple of hours sleep the night before we were back at the hotel early to crash but with some idea of what we want to do tomorrow.
