First, a quick account of yesterday, as action packed as it was. I went to Paddy's Market and realised why Lonely Planet had slated it so much. It's rubbish. Really awful so I ran away like a clued up small child from neverland. For lunch I did something a bit naughty. I bought some noodles and cooked them at Base. No one btted an eyelid. I have pumped enough cash into their operation so I take it as my god given right. For the rest of the day I just lounged on the grass in the Botanical Gardens which was awesome. Sometimes I do like my own company. I'd rather be with myself then a bunch of connards. I went a bit mad at this pie joint in Kings cross for dinner. It was called Pie Face. The effort that went into their branding must have been collosal. On the way up I noticed that Mccann Ericsson is in the red light district. Brilliant. Anyway, about my pie. I had three of them. One chicken and mushroom and two steak injected with cheese; one of which I had with smash and gravy. Pretty tasty although I never usually eat smash. These 2 American girls started talking to me and I did my usual thing of alienating people with my sometimes obtuse sense of humour. The conversation went something like this.
US girls:'what pie did you go for?'
Me: 'Oh I was a bit of a greedy f***er and had 2 but i have just seen the stack and am also really tempted by that (a stack is a pie with smash and gravy btw')
Us Girls:'Yeah you should do it and have the steak and cheese one again for maximum calories'
Me: 'Yeah and maybe have a coffee and a donut and buy some cigarettes and perhaps call my mum'
God knows why I said that.
Anyways, an early night apart from waking myself up sleeptalking, saying 'Danny, come here' over and over again. I opened my eyes and saw the french girl and her bloke looking at me and I said something like, 'What the f*** am I doing? Sorry'
Got up early this morning and trudged down to the Oz experience office. Got on the bus to the Blue Mountains. Would have been totally awesome had it not been for the following: Gingers (proper ginger, like orange), fat people, people with just awful hair, rude and obnoxious people, people with really tacky tatooes, this bloke who carried around a twig and kept tapping the ground trying to get snakes out who reminded me of a family member but I won't divulge who. He was a knob. Oh and people who ate with their mouths open and people who insisted on walking around with no top on exposing pasty, wobbly flesh. And the bloke with a monobrow. Any combination of these factors scored double tosser points. There was also this bloke who did press ups on the walks and kept banging on about the army and tried to impress girls by giving really hard hand shakes. What an UTTER f*** WIT. But all things considered, the trip was actually quite good. Some really stunning scenary to take in and some quite good walks which I pounded with ease in my Adidas Supernovas. I'm awaiting sponsorship anytime soon. Also got on the steepest train in the world. You'd have to see it to believe it. It only went about 8 mph but it still scared the s*** out of me. Fell asleep on the bus back and now I'm going to cheekily cook my noodles at base again because I'm an utter rebel. I might get a tattoo that says "I cook noodles in places that I shouldn't and I don't care'. Leaving Sydney tomorrow for surf camp. Score.
