Day 1 - Christchurch to Lake Ohau.

Early rise this morning to do and get the tour bus for the journey around the South Island of New Zealand. Met the tour guide, Emmo, bus driver Mikey Mike and the rest of the tour.

We had a quick tour of Christchurch and then the bus made it's way down the east of the south island towards Lake Ohau.

Lots of Glacier Lakes around these parts, turquoise blue waters but cold, not quite as cold as the Atlantic though!
Lake Tekapo was absolutely surreal, the setting was picture perfect!

One thing that's really noticeable is the clean air in New Zealand, very pure.

The accommodation was in a lodge on Lake Ohau. This was an amazing place in a secluded location. During the winter it is really popular for skiing!
After something to eat and a quick dip in the water, it was time to relax for the night.
