After over 500 miles of driving, 2 states, a trip to Hoover dam and the west rim of the grand canyon ( Crap! ) we have arrived in the Grand Canyon National Park, in Arizona, deep in Bear, Elk and Snakes country amongst other things according to all the road signs! Our trusty automatic Mazda 2 steed did very well, if not a little dusty from all this desert! The automatic took a little getting used to, along with the driving on the wrong side of the road.
We tried at least 5 different hotels/lodges, only to be greeted with "that'll be $160 without tax ma'am"... But eventually managed to find one under $100, being this close to the Grand Canyon is apparently quite expensive!
Early start for us tomorrow, trecking into the grand canyon, already loaded with supplies and charging the camera as we type. Pictures will follow once a decent internet connection has been found.
Long drive back to Vegas tomorrow, drop the car back and check into the Golden Nugget. Conveniently directly opposite the Greyhound station for the trip back to LA. Quick one night rest before a 4am departure to Atlanta and another long Greyhound stint to Savannah!
