The storm had continued throughout the night and into the early hours of the morning. We woke up to a very wet and grey city skyline. We stayed in until 9am, hoping it would chill out a bit, and it did! Rain macs at the ready we headed out to see what Ho Chi Minh had to offer. Breakfast was NEEDED first. Another early rise today, heading to Saigon. When walking to the bus station we stumbled upon a street stall selling Bahn Mi; a French style baguette filled with Vietnamese flavours. We had heard about them but were yet to try one. The filling is normally pork meat and a kind of pâté but we had been told not to ask what the filling actually is :-/! Up by the alarm, and out the door for the boat. Today we are leaving Phu Quoc Island and heading to Ho Chi Minh (Saigon) City, with a 1 night lay-over in Can Tho. Two fresh plain baguettes were grabbed for breakfast, as we jumped on the 2.5hr boat ride to Rach Gia port on the main land. A lie in was on the cards this morning followed by breakfast and mugs of tea until we decided what to do for the day. On our scooter day earlier in the week we explored the north, so today we would explore the south.
