It was eventually time to pack up our bags and get back on the road. We have had a week of just relaxation and we were keen to get going again.
We were up early in order to cram in some breakfast before our 8am coach back to Saigon.
Another sleeper bus made for a comfortable 5 hour journey and for the most part we were asleep.
Several stops later and we were back in the familiar sights of Ho Chi Minh City. No need for any reading or maps, we jumped off the bus and headed straight for the cheapest guesthouse. We knew it was the cheapest because we had looked around a dozen of them last time we were here.
The itinerary for this afternoon was to go back to the cafe where we had found the best cup of tea in Asia (along with cakes!), then to find a pharmacy for eye drops as I am struggling with Pink Eye (conjunctivitis), shower, and go for our last Vietnamese dinner!
Dinner had to be Pho, and with a little search on the Internet we had found a highly praised street stall that was just downstairs.
Pho Bo (beef) for two. Just as the reviews had warned us it was AMAZING! We shared a table with some locals as the place was packed out.
I'm gutted to be leaving Vietnam. The food has been more than delicious, the people are superb and the budget was kept intact. Vietnam is a country we will return, more than once, and hopefully sooner rather than later.
Thank you Vietnam!!
