The rain was falling as daylight came around. Not the ideal scene for our comrades to awake to. We all sheltered for tea and orange juice at a cafe as the rain poured. Once safe we took a stroll to take a look at the beach. As we stepped out feet into the wet sand the clouds parted and the sun beamed down on us! We had to take advantage of the sun so the rest of the day consisted of sitting on the beach while eating copious amounts of fresh pineapple, mango, bananas and coconuts.
Later in the afternoon we got up and left the beach. We took a stroll through the town and the surrounding area. We got lost, gained blisters, and built up an appetite. A late lunch was had as the heavens opened again. We braved the walk back, knowing we were heading back to a dry room and fresh clothes. The walk back was wet, very wet, the torrential rain soaked us through. We stopped for a stock up on beer, water and chocolate for tonight's plans of Monopoly on the kosh.
Showered and dry we set up the game board on the Kosh (Turkish style square wooden structure raised off the ground. Cushions on the floor provide seating) and prepared to get deep into Monopoly.
Hours in and all the beers were gone. The girls dropped like flies. Donna crashed out where she sat during the game. Siobh on the edge of becoming bankrupt waved the white towel and retreated to bed. This just left me to take the victory from Buller! A rare occurrence: To actually finish a monopoly game!
Dinner had been forgotten about and sleep was needed.
