Why Hello again,
So after my last blog we started on our journey to Byron Bay via Coffs Harbour.
I also have family from my mums side in Australia, which is my great auntie Joan (my Grandad's sister). I didnt think I would be able to meet up with her as I wasnt going to be going to Coffs Harbour due to time and extra expense but I was wrong!!
So I contacted Joan and she was very keen to meet up that night so me, Annette, Greg, Owen and Amy all went for dinner with Joan and we had a lovely evening. Always a little nerve- racking to meet new people- especially long distance relatives but Im glad I got to meet her. I never met my Grandad as he died before I was born so it was nice to meet his sister and hear a few stories about him as it gives me an idea of what he was like.
The next morning we decided that a trip to Coffs Harbour would not be complete without a visit to the Big Banana!! So off we went! For those of you who dont know what the big banana is- join the club- I have been there and I still couldnt tell you exactly what its all about!! Ill tell you what I did there and you can make your own judgements....
We went on a sky walk up in the banana trees- I had never seen a banana tree until then and all of a sudden I was surrounded by hundreds!! Bananas everywhere!! Big ones, small ones- ones as big as your head!! But the walk was nice and we could see all the way to the sea and the islands further on, lovely view...
We couldnt leave without having a go on the tobogan so we all got going and were zipping around racing each other on that!
This was all followed by an ice cream with the big banana before being on our way again...
Short and sweet...but worth it....

Sarah We went to the big banana! Bizarre. We also saw the big mango and giant prawn but apparently missed the giant pineapple! xx
Angela Good for you catching up with distant family. So the big banana is a Banana Split, reminds me, when Wimpy was the best place to eat as a kid, that and a knickerbocker glory, yummy! Happy explooring, are you going to meet up with Marslie? Axx
