Our lovely hotel receptionist told us that we could change rooms today Yaaayy!! Although it would be our last night in Rome, we jumped at the opportunity! The new room was huge - big bed, working A/C, safer hairdryer, better shower head (so it wouldn't take 30min to wash the shampoo out of my hair!), and although it was a more expensive room she didn't charge us any extra :)
After excitedly moving into the new room, we ventured out to find a laundromat. Whilst waiting for our laundry, we grabbed some lunch and wandered around the market stalls close to or hotel.
After dropping our laundry back into our new (yay) room, we made our way over to St. Peters Basilica. We spent ages walking around marveling at all the mosaics and the sheer size of the church.
By this point, it was time to meet our guide for a tour of the Vatican museum and Sistine Chapel. Our guide was so great - she really kept me interested and entertained (although her job isn't too hard considering you're viewing some of the most amazing artworks).
By the time we finished our tour and visited the basilica again, our tummies were definitely ready for food so upon recommendation by our Hotel's receptionist, we tried a local restaurant. Both of us decided it was fitting to have the caprese salad and a fettucine bolognese for our last meal in Italy - and it certainly delivered!
Ps. No dessert Erica because we simply couldn't fit it in!!! :)
