Trotting up hills is so much fun . . .
Pick ya feet up or ya'll fall pet . . .
6.30am ish run, absolutely starving, with the 'gang', consisting of me, Gav, Angela, Ian and John. Car and Lauren went a shorter route. The route started on the all weather road but we turned off down another road, that looked the same, eventually came out on the main road, where we turned right, and its all up hill on the way back, can I get a whoop whoop for enthusiasm about this, personally I have none.
As soon as we had turned off the all weather road, Angela like all of us kept catching our feet on the stones, lazy runners! but Angela went flying, grazing her knees, hands and elbows. Forever she will carry African orange dirt under her skin, as no matter how hard or often she scrubbed these wounds, the orangeness just will not budge.
After, the fall we did continue the run, I was leading up til maybe the first or second hill, I cant remember, I block out the awful bits, where the guys over took and I stopped to put on my ipod for a beat, continuing at a snail pace, lagging behind, honestly what did I expect training with such fit freaks, a group I hope to rejoin again someday soon.
Two hills today, two stops for recovery. It feels so good to be back running, so for run number 3 I will not stop, I either start off slower or just man up and keep running through the breathless pain and numb arms!
Back at camp, I mustered up the strength for 5mins worth of stretch before hitting the breakfast with Angela, Car and Gav til 8.30 when Seb appeared. This ill little fellow is still rather ill, great way for him to start the week ey?
Jumped in the shower, unpacked(questionable- the cleaners throughout the week make my bed over my mess, I put everything on the floor at night, everything on the bed during the day, as the week goes on the cleaners when they make my bed start to just shove it all on the floor. I also have a towel collection that hangs from my mosquito net hook. I tend to have around four towels, collected from the gym, pool, sauna and then my regular one. Cups of chai lead to a build up of cups in the room, and then there is always my bedtime banana that I have just before bed with a cuppa to help me sleep, I know, I feel sorry for my roomie Angela aswell, such a messy person).
Plucked eyebrows and painted my nails by the pool before my 10.30am meeting with Gav to discuss my programme that he will write and give to me later on in the week. So it was a chilled half an hour. Its so easy being here and talking about running, but I really must get some structure in my usual hectic life and make time for a running programme.
I did some yoga in the gym before dinner. Had a splash around in the pool. 5pm core class with Gav and the Kenyans. Tea time, then Chris taught me how to play whist, well Chris showed me how to lose at whist. Then it was bed time ready for bedtime b****ing, oh I love it.xx
