Day 186, 6 January 2013, Portnalong, Or very close to it - This afternoon, with excellent directions and world class navigating skills, we ventured off into a howling gale and sideways rain. Even by Skye standards the weather was somewhat below par. The purpose of our adventure to the other side of the island was to meet two total strangers and have a catch up. Ahhh. Day 185, 5 January 2013, Knott - As you can see from the picture, the 100% chance of rain didn't arrive in time for the morning. We got the hiking boots on and took ourselves for an excursion over the fences and down to the shores of Loch Snizort. The air was certainly brisk this morning but it was worth the short walk to stand on the shore and watch 3 seals frolicking about 20 metres away. Surprisingly difficult to get a photo of the slippery little critters ...

Day 184, 4 January 2013 - Dunvegan - there via the longish way.... back by the longer way. Unfortunately the Macleod clan have decided to give themselves a peaceful winter and closed the castle to tourists. On a positive note - yay! no entry fees. On a daft note, never let the facts get in the way of a good story... so if Hugh Macleod (30th Chief of the Clan Macleod), had happened to potter by on his way to shoot something - perhaps we could have had a chat......

Day 183, 3 January 2013, Knott,Isle of Skye - World, meet Toby. Toby, meet World. Strictly speaking we met Toby on our first morning in the studio. He picked his way down the wet path, looked in the window, caught us still in bed then waited patiently at the front door until we opened it. (It's a cat's version of knocking). Once in he inspected the laundry, the luggage, the ankles, the fridge door, the ankles (again) and contemplated our sad lack of tid-bits...

Day 183, 3 January 2012 - The Kilted Rock (that would be the rock formation in the background of the waterfall with the vertical columns of rock). Highly poetic souls the Scots. The sky showed blue pieces around lunchtime - so we leaped in the car and went for a drive to the north via Uig - just when we thought it couldn't become any more wild - it did.
