Day 305, 5 May 2013, Manhattan, New York - The Guggenheim, The Museum of Modern Art (MOMA), the "Real" Brooklyn Tour (thank god - on a bus!) We were up bright and early and made it to The Guggenheim just 15 minutes after opening - folks around, but still very peaceful. We took the lift to the top of the Frank Wright building and walked down the inner spiral. We are consciously trying to expose ourselves to modern and contemporary art to expand our appreciation...

Day 304, 4 May 2013, Manhattan, New York - Food on Foot tour of the East Village. We have gotten good at the subway after a couple of days and made it down to (Very) Grand Central Station to meet the guide and a massive group of 40 people. Took a train all together to 14th Street (only lost 2) and visited a range of good, cheap eats - Vanessa's Dumpling House, the Artichoke pizza joint, This Little Piggy had Roast Beef sandwich shop, the Butter Lane cupcake bake...

Day 303, 3 May 2013, Manhattan, New York. Phew - after a slightly easy day yesterday, due to me being tuckered out, we were back into it with a vengeance! En route to Central Park we walked through New York's Diamond District - so many sparklies we almost lost our eyesight. I was reduced to doing my Gollum impression from Lord of the Rings.... Day 302, 2 May 2013, Manhattan, New York - Headed down to the Brooklyn Bridge - took in the views and then had lunch in crazy mad Chinatown - always excellent value - Shanghai cuisine on Mott Street. Even found a sunhat that looks relatively cool - vital because the weather is really warming up for us - been in snow and winter since November! Day 301, 1 May 2013, Manhattan, New York. Day two of the New York Pass week - sure to be a ripper! Headed out about 9 am for a stroll through Hell's Kitchen (or Clinton as the area is now known...) All the way down to the piers on the West side to visit the Intrepid Air, Sea and Space Museum. That's the USS Intrepid Aircraft carrier to us regular folks.
