Day 250, 11 March 2013, Summerland, British Columbia. We drove around the shores of Lake Okanagan today and headed south through Peachland to Summerland. The fruit stands are still closed as are many of the wineries, but it sure seems like Summer has arrived in British Columbia - wow! We felt in some of these little towns that we'd gone back in time 20 years - at least. We bought a roast chicken and salad in Summerland and headed to a campground on the shores of the lake for lunch. Apparently this spot is so packed in summertime what we did would have been impossible - so the peace of eating lunch by the lake in blazing sunshine was superb. It was 7 degrees - so amazingly warm where the sun touched us - and cold on our opposite sides. Home for a snooze (only 3 hours today!) It's been such a warm day, with so much sunshine, it really does feel like Summer has started (almost to the day we put clocks forward).
