Day 157, 8 December 2012, Vienna. This morning we had a bus and walking tour around the Ringstrasse and the centre of Vienna. Hypothermia was imminent for us humans at least - but checkout the ear-warmers on the carriage horses! The walk around the historic areas and the Hofburg winter palace was interesting, but we must admit the cold was getting into our bones and the facts were escaping our heads. Saw some great Roman ruins right in the centre of town, covered in snow. Officially our first iced over Roman history. We headed back to the ship for lunch and then enjoyed another walk around Vienna in the afternoon and explored a Christmas market just outside the Judenplatz. Some cruisers headed out again in the evening for a concert in town.... we were actually super keen to have a night "at home". Outings to Durnstein and Melk tomorrow. Wachau Valley here we come.
