Kia ora! I started this blog while on an adventure trip in New Zealand, but I was so busy doing everything from bungy jumping at Kawarau bridge, to rafting, horseback riding, sailing, jumping from the Auckland tower, sky diving and you name it, that it is just now, after I got back from the South America and New York travels, I have the blog up and running. The dates might not be exactly right, but the route is the same as on the Gap Adventures Southern divide and then the Lake District adventure trips. So follow those and you get a glimps of the things I saw and experienced during the 5 weeks there + about 10 days in New York.

I´ve travelled since I was little, first touring around Europe by our family motor home, then doing exchange year in California, studying a year in Sweden, doing an internship at the UN New York - and working for many years in KILROY travels. So needless to say I have a travellers soul, always moving around in an outside my home country Finland - when ever there is a chance, why? Can't fight the passion of finding new paths, adventures and sometimes getting lost. So I start my first blog from New Zealand continuing to South America. This is 100% adventure.

Some thigs that I consider important for me while thinking of travels:
-never do e.g. "a long weekend in NY for shopping", since I want to travel with more sustainable way, trying to staying longer if possible, getting to know locals, trying new things, looking for other experiences than just consuming: shopping trips are not the valuable things in life for me!

Also I don´t do the all inclusives because I am interested in widening my perspective, and not just stay in a fancy hotel sippin some drinks surrounded by walls, outside of which there might be incredible poverty, rather I want to see something different than home stuff, see how the locals live, get to know their cultures and I want THEM to benefit from the money I bring as tourist - not the big hotel/travel company chains using the money in completely elsewhere. Corporate responsibility is the contemporary travellers basic demand, so I think it is nice to know how exactly e.g. the companies I use while traveling benefit and help the locals. Responsible tourism is a good goaal, because tourism is now the world´s biggest growing industry with huge effects on communities, environment and everything!
