Tuesday 24th June Glacier Bay National Park - Scenic Cruising
We were up on deck at 8am hoping to spot Orcas. We spotted quite a few, lots of seals ,sea otters and floating ice. At 10am a Pilot boat arrived to guide us through Glacier Bay and National Park Rangers boarded to give us their expert commentary. This Biosphere Reserve and UNESCO World Heritage Site protect a unique ecosystem of plants and animals living in an ever-changing glacial landscape. We passed Russell Island and saw Margerie Glacier. They we saw the glacier carving. It was spectacular. Our boat did a 360 degree turn so everyone had an opportunity to view the glaciers. We also passed Ferris and Grand Pacific Glaciers then Rendu and Carroll Glaciers. We met up with Lee and Tony and went back to their verandah deck and had a wine watching the glaciers carve. Pete and I went back to our room and changed into formal wear because we were having a free Black and White Photo shoot. After the shoot we met up with Lee and Tony at the MIX Bar for trivia then to the Lido for dinner. After dinner I met up with three ladies from our tour who were bridge players and we had a night of Bridge. After bridge Pete and I went to the Casino to play the slots.
