I met up with Louise and Andy in the hostel reception at 8.30am and we set off to the car rental place where they had prebooked their car. We collected the car, chucked in the luggage and set off looking for adventure. The plan was to drive along the Great Ocean Road as far as Apollo Bay where we would spend the night in the YHA. Our first stop was the beach in Torquay, then Bells Beach and then pretty much every scenic viewing spot we could find on route. And there are a lot of scenic viewing spots!!! We checked out the beaches, watched surfers and went looking for Anacondas in the bush on route to look at a waterfall (one of those jokes where I suppose you just had to be there, there aren't any wild in Australia). We passed through little seaside towns and turned up at Apollo Bay around 5pm. The hostel is fairly new and was very swanky!! Nice lounge with a log fire, tv room with big bean bags, nice kitchen, very warm beds with big pillows!! I made chicken curry for dinner and we sat by the fire before heading to bed exhausted!!!
