After a swim and a wash this morning at Dalhousie Springs, we headed off at 10:45am.

The challenge for today is to see if Chris has enough fuel to get to Mt.Dare. The detours around the flooded salt lakes have really eaten into the usage of our fuel.

23km short of Mt Dare Chris ran out of fuel. I (happily...) drove into Mt Dare, filled up my car and Chris's jerry can and made the return journey. This road would be the worst section of road we have driven this trip.

Birdsville to Mt Dare 617km this year with all the salt lake bypasses. Pajero took exactly 100 litres of diesel.

After 550km for the day, we got to William Creek at 7pm. We put the tents up in the record time of 15 minutes as we had a reservation at the pub for dinner.
