Left Bamaga about 10am this morning. We drove to the Jardine River, caught the ferry across. We then drove up to the most northern end of the telegraph track where it meets the southern bank of the Jardine River. Yesterday was very relaxing. We did some fishing and went for a drive over to the east coast. Jeanette caught three fish and with the haul from out charter we had a great feed last night for dinner. In the photo are little crabs that were all over the beach on the east coast. So much rubbish and crap washes up on shore there. Today we fueled up and are heading back down the telegraph track, initially heading for Jardine River.

Started the OTL Thursday morning with "great success". Palm River quite difficult but do-able. Pushed on to Eliot Falls, Fruit Bat Falls and the lesser known but lovely Saucepan. Spent two nights to give the girls a day off setting up and packing up the tents!! Plenty of time for swimming yesterday. Lots of interesting and challenging river crossings. Made it!! Even though we burned all of our rubbish this morning, we decided to visit the "tip". We rolled into the car park at 6pm and walked the final 200 metres over the rocks to photograph the sign. 9pm now and still 24 degrees!! We have an ocean view campsite at Loyalty Beach camp ground. Gentle breeze and hopefully no crocs.... Fishing off the Seisia jetty tomorrow so hopefully we can catch some dinner!!
