(Emma spent 25 mins writing a detailed quality blog on Waitomo....only for the computer to wipe it!!!!) Andrew will now write a brief blog to summarise our time here!!!
So Waitomo makes Bempton look like a city! It has 41 permannt residents and is the size of a car park! We booked for 2 nights.....why I hear you cry??? Well....
In Waitomo there are glow-worm caves! These caves are an amazing site! The only light is made from the glowworms! We went on the Spellbound tour - Richard Attenborough reviewed it for a nature thing apparently and said it was really good! It wasn't as touristy as the others as there was only 9 in a group instead of 49 japanese camera flashing tourists!!!! It really was cool
But in my opinion not as much fun as....rabbit shearing!!! Yes you read that correctly!!! We visited the shearing shed to see these really hairy German rabbits being sheared!!! Have a look at the photos but I bet you can't wait for the video we took!!!
We had a walk around too on one of the many walking tracks....at one point I thought a cow pat was a stepping stone, i went flying much to Emma's amusement!!!
Other than that we chilled out in Waitomo.... we stayed in a cabin at a Holiday Park which was cheap! It was a nice rest before we headed to Rotorua - where we had lots planned to see and do!!!!
