Hey Everyone!

Sorry I haven't written in so long but we have been really busy and I haven't been able to get on the internet! Our drive to Sydney wasn;t too bad in the end apart from one day when we couldn't find anywhere to stay because all the motels were booked so I refused to give up and carried on driving until about 2am and then I nealry killed a kangaroo that was standing in the road so I gave up and we had a night of sleeping in the car!

We acftually managed to find some accommodation for NYE which was supposedly in Sydney but is pretty much like saying that Aylesbury is in London because we had to get a train for an hour to get there. We would have agreed to stay anywhere at that point though!

We arrived in Syndey on NYE and headed down to the harbour bridge at 11am. We stocked up on tons of munchies and bought a cool box (which I broke the second we got there by sitting on it!!) The area we wanted to get in wasn;t allowed any alochol but you could buy it once you got in there so it was all good and we found an amazing spot which we had to protect with our lives all day. It was the hottest day ever and they were selling umbrellas for 25 pounds because everyone was desperate for some shade. We managed to get a bargain and so managed to close our area off to everyone with the umbrella and cool box.

At 9pm there were fireworks for the kids which were pretty amazing so everyone was really hyped up for midnight. It was definately worth sitting there for 12 hours because I had never seen anything like it. Everyone was just standing there with their mouths open and you didn't know which way to look because there were fireworks on the bridge then to our right there were fireworks coming out the top of all the skyscrapers and behind us was the opera house with more fireworks!

It was so weird speaking to everyone at home when you were in 2007 and I was in 2008! I was loving the phone calls when it was your NYE nad I was asleep...honetly!!

We were going to head to Melbourne on the 1st but I was feeling really rough with a bad ear but it didn;t clear up by the next day and we had a flight booked so we had to beg a doctor to see me and she said I have an inner and outer ear infection so I am drugged up to the max on antibiotics and drops. She said I shouldn't fly but we risked it and luckily it was ok. When we got to our hostel last night there was only one bed free in the first room so reception moved us to another dorm and in that one there was a huge cockroach/scorpion thing on my bed so I wasn't best pleased!! Keon killed it and it made the grossest crunch noise ever!

We have just been wandering around Melbourne today but I'm not really in the mood for anything so we are just chilling back at the hostel now and then we are going to see 'I am legend' at the cinema later.
