I just wrote a whole blog and then lost the whole thing so I'm going to try and sound unbeat again in this one!
I went to do my harbour bridge climb on Friday night. It took about 40 mins to get all this security gear on and then we went outside to start and it was raianing which made everyone else really nervous because it was pretty slippy and you couldn't see where you were going. I was loving it though because it made it more exciting! Everyone was taking so long to climb up the ladders, it was pretty hard to be patient!
Then the second we got to the edge of the arch there was lightening in the distance so we had to climb the whole way down so we could go inside the bridge where it was safe. It was really random to be standing inside the harbour bridge on a friday night when normally I'd be in the pub in Brackley! Eventually they gave up on it because the storm was just getting worse so I have had to reschedule it for tomorrow during the day which is pretty good because now I have seen it at night and tomorrow I'll see it in the day! Its boiling here at the moment though so I'll be looking very sweaty in the pictures at the top!
I went to Bondi beach on Saturday with Sarah. It is much nicer than I expected because everyone says it is really busy. I thought it was great and as its only about 20mins from the city center it is so handy. There are really nice bars and cafes along the beachfront too. After a look at the beach we went and had a day of wandering around a huge shopping center and remembering days when we had money to buy clothes! On the way back we stopped off at Circular quay for dinner and had a view exactly like the picture here while we were eating our pizza and drinking wine, it was amazing. It is times like that when I realise how cool it is that I'm travelling the world and seeing all these things.
Today I went to Manly beach. You have to get a ferry from Circular quay to get there which was really cool because you get great views of the city and opera house. We spent a few hours in the beach but had to give up because it was too hot, then we went and had some really nice fish and chips. There is a great atmosphere on the main road in Manly because there are loads of nads and markets with nice places to eat all mixed in, I really liked it.
Tomorrow I'm going to the museum of contempory art, then having a picnic in the botanocal gardens which are really lovely and right next to the opera house so you get great views and then I'm doing my bridge climb. I'm still waiting for my passport and I'm leaving on Wednesday so fingers crossed that it will be ready on time. On Tuesday we are going to watch Billy Elliot at the theatre and then go for dinner in Darling Harbour as a treat for my last night because its where all the fancy bars are. I have nothing fancy to wear and only flip flops so I probably won't get in anywhere but we'll give it a go!
