John left New Zealand 34 years ago, he made a life in Australia raised a beautiful son, met and married 'me' 30 years ago!!!
Over that time we have been to New Zealand to many times to remember! However the first was the most memorable...John sent me over to New Zealand to meet his Mum & Dad on my own...can you imagine that! I must have created a good impression as his Dad called John and said that if he didn't marry me he would be very disappointed!!!!
A lot has happened and changed over these past 30 years, namely John's father passing away 5 years ago and his brother passing 9 months later...however today we along with John's remaining siblings celebrated Val's 80th birthday...
No matter where you come from, being with family and friends on a joyous occasion makes the distance not seem so far!!!
